6 Groups that Will Win Big From a War with Syria

warIt has to be obvious to almost everyone that the US war machine is trying desperately to get another war going… and – at least for the moment – failing miserably.

Now, it’s entirely possible that they’ll get their war going before this article even reaches you, but still, it’s quite another question whether they can sustain it.

War is a wild beast, of course, and you can never tell what it’ll do once it’s released into the world. But the beast of 2013 seems a bit emaciated and weak.

This situation reminds me of the old set of posters and buttons from the 1970s that asked the question:

What if they gave a war and no one came?

That looks to be the case right now. But that doesn’t mean powerful interests aren’t pushing for it.

Who Benefits?

The Romans had a phrase that they used for legal analysis: cui bono, which translates to “who benefits?” Clearly, powerful individuals are pushing hard for the US to go to war. Let’s take a look at who these people are.

Early 20th century writer Randolph Bourne was ever-so right when he taught us that “war is the health of the state.” In times of peace, the state is commonly resented. After all, they forcibly remove money from the people in their control, and that engenders bad feelings. When terrified by war, however, people are willing to forget about such matters: It is better to be a serf than to be a corpse.

Consider the “great Presidents” – nearly all of them were associated with a war, and probably a big one.

I’m talking here about central bankers, not the operator of your local savings and loan.

War requires money, and lots of it. And money comes from central bankers, not from governments or even from simple printing presses. Dollars, yen, euros and the others come from central bankers, and those bankers get a cut of everything they create.

And then, of course, they get interest on those dollars from every business that needs loans for machines to manufacture bullets, uniforms, bombs, portable food, and everything else that goes into “giving a war.”

The Mega-corps

State-connected corporations thrive in time of war. These outfits are addicted to over-sized profits, and the very best tool for obtaining them is war. Nothing else comes close. So, for the sake of their stock prices, they need war and will push in dozens of ways to get it.

The Intelligence Complex

What’s not to like about war for these guys?

More money, worship on the nightly television shows, unlimited power, and no questions asked about your misdeeds… not to mention the segment of womankind that will reward the impressively violent with prompt mating privileges.

The Military Contracting Complex

There are literally thousands of military contracting firms these days, and all of the successful ones are allied with one government agency or another – a military service, a foreign affairs department, a retired general, a politician… someone with pull. It’s the only way to get work in those fields, and it’s also the best way for bureaucrats of the middle and upper levels to get kickbacks.

War funnels immense amounts of money to all levels of the state-corporate complex through this new conduit.

People Who Play On Emotions

Nothing stirs up “rah-rah” emotions better than images of dead people wearing your home team’s uniform. And that’s really good for the many people who cash in on your emotions. That list begins with politicians and continues with Hollywood (TV, movies and games) advertisers, all the people mentioned above, and even religious leaders. The churches of America fill with military rhetoric (and people) in time of war, and ambitious ministers play it up big. (With a few exceptions.)

So, that’s just a general list of people who benefit from war. The interesting thing about this moment is that the Western world – and America in particular – seems weary of the bloody exercise. They’ve had it for more than a decade, and the emotional surge has worn off.

And, it may just be that the terrified Americans who ran to politicians for safety in 2001 have grown up a bit.

Let’s hope so.

Paul Rosenberg

At the risk of being pedantic, guys, the Latin for “who benefits” is “cui bono”, NOT “qui bono”, literally “to whom from the good”.
Good mag, though! (Albeit entirely Americo-centric).

  • Galenical September 3, 2013, 8:13 pm

I am sure the list is much longer….., however, there is one point that the author misses that has somewhat to do with Bastiat’s broken window. A nation can only benefit it’s economy by warring only if the war is fought on somebody else’s property. Once the war happens on the warring nation’s soil, politicians are killed, factories are destroyed, the uniform worshiping maidens have no handsome young men because the young men are dead, the fields cannot be tilled, starvation and misery for nearly all ensue. If it is bad enough, a revolution unfolds (let alone maybe even losing the war) and the bankers, politicians, and captains of industry end up on the wrong side of a firing squad.

    • Carpenter E September 4, 2013, 1:09 pm

That still doesn’t benefit a nation’s economy, because its money will go to tanks and bullets spent in another country, instead of things that would improve the economy.

Obama’s golf game may suffer if he has to pay more attention to this distraction.

  • Oompaul September 4, 2013, 12:25 pm

    not Israel?

    • 1mickeymouse September 4, 2013, 2:03 pm

you are correct my friend, we have no stake in war with the arabs. Israel, however does. all the countries america has invaded over the past decade are countries that disagree with israels takeover of palestine.

  • Carpenter E September 4, 2013, 1:07 pm

All of that and no mention of Israel. Wow.

“Bankers,” “politicians” and “the intelligence community,” seriously? With this logic there could be war against just about any country, it wouldn’t matter. And what a sinister view. Libertarians talk about government like communists talk about corporations.

The Israeli lobby is the number one group pressing for war. They target Syria not just because “we could take any country,” but because it is Syria, period. Syria has helped Hezbollah, defenders of the southern Shia Muslims in Lebanon against the Israeli invasion when Israel came for the Palestinian training camps and killed anyone standing in the way. Hezbollah and Syria are two factors not yet totally controlled by Israel, and could make problems when Israel continues to “settle”, steal, the last 22 percent of Palestinian land.

Israel wants Syria torn apart completely. The rebels, if they win, won’t be able to run Syria’s formerly formidable air defense, and the rebels will fight each other, with the U.S. – Israel’s always-paying lackey – funding the pro-globalist side against the Islamist side.

If Syria was Israel’s ally the U.S. would support the Syrian government, no matter how many demonstrators they had killed. Just like in Yemen, Bahrain, Egypt, Algeria and Saudi Arabia. They imprison and torture demonstrators and the U.S. does nothing. Hillary Clinton sent riot gear and tear gas to the military in Egypt during the Arab Spring, while lying about “democracy” before the cameras. In Yemen the dictator killed thousands of demonstrators, and what did the U.S. do? Start drone-bombing the rebels.

Because those states submit to Israel and say nothing about the killing of Palestinians, and the stealing of their land. But Syria and Iran have objected. Just like President Hussein, who was anti-Islamist and pro-American, gave money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, whose homes were razed to the ground by Israeli occupiers. And for their protests, the Syrians, Iranians and Iraqis must be crushed. So says Israel and its lobby, and so say the Zionists in U.S. media boardrooms and in Hollywood.

Let’s remember which tribe started the last two world wars and is ginning up the third world war.

NO other tribe comes close to the wars and genocides they have instigated, perpetrated, and often funded both sides for profit—the synagogue of Satan.

Timely that you should mention the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand… Jews (Gavril Princeps and four of his co-assassins) started World War ONE—25 million died.

Jews (the 1933 Declaration of War of World Jewry against Germany) started World War TWO—60 to 80 million died.

Jews created (Rabbi Moses Hess and his disciple Marx), financed (Rosenwald, Kuhn, Loeb, Schiff, etc.), propagandized (Ehrenburg, Mikhoels, Khaldei, etc.) exported (Kun, Eisner, Zimanas, Rozanski, Pijade, Rakosi, Olszewsi, etc.), and mostly ran (Lenin, Trotsky, Zinoviev, Sverdlov, Litvinov, Andropov, etc.) Communism, their secret police (Beria, Yagoda, Bronstein, Yurovsky, Pauker, Slutsky, Gay, Speigelglas, Babel, etc.), and gulags (the Kaganovich family, Berman, Frenkel, Firin, Rappoport, Kogan, Zhuk, etc.)—60 million died in the USSR; if you blame Hess and Marx for Mao, add another 75 million dead.

The synagogue of Satan is responsible, directly and indirectly, for the murder of nearly a QUARTER BILLION PEOPLE in the 20th century.

How many will you let them kill in the 21st century?

The jews were mentioned. The bankster-gangsters running the central banks. Axis of evil = countries with central banks NOT under Rothschild (jewish) control: Iran, Syria, and N, Korea. recently also included Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan See a pattern yet?

Saw an infographic on this the other day. Is it factual though? Very likely not. “Facts” like this spread like wildfire on the net.

    • Bill Hartman September 5, 2013, 3:06 am

“With this logic there could be war against just about any country, it wouldn’t matter.” Precisely the author’s point. And I tend to feel that it has at least some validity.

“And what a sinister view.” So, you don’t believe that the elements of the military industrial complex support war in the general sense? You believe that they would secretly prefer that guns be forged into plowshares? Really? That politicians are not aware that war increases their power and their historical legacy? You disagree with this “sinister view”? Really? Since central bankers are far more likely to be Jewish than the general population, I would think you would automatically agree with that point. 🙂

Even accepting your belief in a particular conspiracy, the author’s point remains valid. A lot of very powerful elements here in America, including non-Jewish ones, will tend to back any war and oppose any lull in the ongoing series of wars, making any united stand against your described conspiracy impossible.

In my view, central banking is evil, and would be so, even if no central banker was Jewish.

Your perspective requires belief in a particular multi-generational conspiracy. The author’s merely requires that people in power act in their own immediate self interest.

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly had his Talking Points last night and the only justification he gave for war in Syria was: Punishment. America is a noble country and what would the world think of us if we didn’t respond{Paraphrase}. He used the word ‘noble’ at least four times in his diatribe. Is he trying to gather the people together in some great crusade? Nothing was said about the crimes against humanity being perpetrated by the so called rebels or the tyrants in Saudi Arabia, Quatar, Bahrain or the negative affects of Libya’s demise. In passing he mentioned the cost but pooh poohed it. There are so many “what ifs” in this adventure but he mentioned none. Just how noble America is. Exceptional is the word so many others have used.
He used a verse from scripture: “To some much is given, from them much is expected”. How odd I thought, I used the same verse yesterday is discussing poverty and was accused of being a Marxist.
If we go to war Rosenberg is correct that only a few will benefit. Many will die and destruction will reign down. Anger will build and more terrorists will join al Qaeda.
America is no longer noble. It is selfish and narcissistic.

    • poorhardworker September 6, 2013, 11:57 am

I saw that too…and was appalled! Many pundits seems to be swallowing the “dog & pony show” starring Obama & Kerry. Yet I have not seen one person mention that the rebels have used gas as well! Here’s the link: http://www.infowars.com/video-syrian-rebel-admits-using-chemical-weapons/
We need to stay out of this tragedy! Obama shot is mouth off and his ego is bruised that no one wants to stand with him…including the UN!

    • Alasdair Morgan September 18, 2013, 12:50 am

Bill O’Reilly is full of BS. He says what he says only to boost his own ratings. I doubt he believes much of the nonsense that comes out of his mouth.

  • Ezra Pound September 4, 2013, 7:37 pm

You forgot Zionism, Israel, and organized Jewry – the primary forces making the war possible.

  • davol September 4, 2013, 7:48 pm

There is mounting evidence growing daily that our President Obama is guiltier of these chemical weapon crimes against humanity than the leader of Syria. America should prosecute accordingly.

  • Covington13 September 4, 2013, 8:08 pm

There is also another imortant group of people pushing very hard for this war.
We all know that Israel(and a large portion of the Jewish community) are salivating at the prospect of seeing Assad(and possibly Iran) defeated. Come on Mr. Rosenberg, why is it that you conspicuously avoid mentioning the 800 pound kosher gorilla in the room?

The Zionists Poisoned/Radiated 100,000 Sefardi Jewish Children.
On August 14, at 9 PM, Israeli television station, Channel Ten, broke all convention and exposed the ugliest secret of Israel’s Labor Zionist founders; the deliberate mass radiation poisoning of nearly all Sephardi youths.
In 1951, the director general of the Israeli Health Ministry, Dr. Chaim Sheba flew to America and returned with 7 x-ray machines, supplied to him by the American army.

They were to be used in a mass atomic experiment with an entire generation of Sephardi youths to be used as guinea pigs. Every Sephardi child was to be given 35,000 times the maximum dose of x-rays through his head. For doing so, the American government paid the Israeli government 300,000 Israeli liras a year. The entire Health budget was 60,000 liras. The money paid by the Americans is equivalent to billions of dollars today.

To fool the parents of the victims, the children were taken away on “school trips” and their parents were later told the x-rays were a treatment for the scourge of scalpal ringworm. 6,000 of the children died shortly after their doses were given, the many of the rest developed cancers that killed them over time and are still killing them now. While living, the victims suffered from disorders such as epilepsy, amnesia, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic headaches and psychosis.

the Moroccan lady describe what getting 35,000 times the dose of allowable x-rays in her head feels like.

“I screamed make the headache go away. Make the headache go away. Make the headache go away. But it never went away.”

To watch the bearded man walk hunched down the street.

“I’m in my fifties and everyone thinks I’m in my seventies. I have to stoop when I walk so I won’t fall over. They took my youth away with those x-rays.”

The majority of the victims were Moroccan because they were the most numerous of the Sephardi immigrants. The generation that was poisoned became the country’s perpetual poor and criminal class. It didn’t make sense. The Moroccans who fled to France became prosperous and highly educated. The common explanation was that France got the rich, thus smart ones. The real explanation is that every French Moroccan child didn’t have his brain cells fried with gamma rays.

The film made it perfectly plain that this operation was no accident. The dangers of x-rays had been known for over forty years. We read the official guidelines for x-ray treatment in 1952.

The maximum dose to be given a child in Israel was .5 rad. There was no mistake made. The children were deliberately poisoned. David Deri, makes the point that only Sephardi children received the x-rays.

“I was in class and the men came to take us on a tour. They asked our names. The Ashkenazi children were told to return to their seats. The dark children were put on the bus.”

Carpenter E hits the nail on the head. One has only to look at the complete and total lack of article anywhere in the mainstream media and most of the so called “alternative” media providing more than passing mention of israel let alone stating the obvious fact that israel is far and away the number one beneficiary of the destruction of Syria. Just like it was far and away the number one beneficiary of the destruction of all the other countries the US has destroyed for them.
