As we noted in Part 1 of How They Became Exceptional, it’s a great tragedy that so many people feel incapable of doing great things. And so in this issue we examine two great men of the Middle Ages, discovering how they were able to achieve what they did. Our subjects are René Descartes and Peter Abelard.
What we see in philosophers like these two subjects differs a bit from what we saw in the scientists we saw previously, but not entirely. More importantly, we see a set of characteristics that harmonize and reinforce those we found in the first group.
