Lots of interesting things happened in the 1960s. Somewhat fewer things happened in the early 1970s, but they were of considerable importance. The years since, however, have been a long wait for trends to play themselves out. They were, in other words, boring. But things happen even in boring times, and in this issue we examine how the changes of the 60s and 70s were institutionalized and are headed toward their ends.
