The Challenge of a No-Frills Christ

Jesus provided a serious challenge to people of his time: he was simply too advanced. And so they added supplemental ideas (like doctrines) almost as a layer of insulation. And yet the challenge of a no-frills Jesus remains, carrying profound possibilities.
