The dominating popular philosophy of the past two generations, a retread of hedonism, is starting to slip away. A return to a more reasonable philosophy (or set of philosophies) is still in it’s early and sloppy stages, but increasing by the day.
In the long run, life and consciousness will overcome hedonism and its primate-level fixations. But if we want it to be followed with something better, we’ll have to build it without delay, because hedonism’s end is approaching.
