Observations at the Extreme

The Nazi Holocaust meant all but nothing to me as a child (even though I had close associations with survivors), and even as an adult I’ve had a very limited interest in the horrors. What has interested me was how people adapted, how they responded, and how they learned or failed to learn from what happened. There are some very interesting things to see here.

Held within a stable set of ambient conditions, there is little reason to think too far beyond the norm. But when thrust into extreme conditions, interesting thoughts arise.
